Terms and Conditions - Smart Souq Last updated: September 7, 2026 · Version 2.0 Introduction This agreement and all policies published on "Smart Souq" exist to protect the rights of both "Smart Souq" and the "User", whether they register an account or browse without one. It was created under the Electronic Transactions Law, and its terms and any dispute arising from it are subject to the laws in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. By using the app or the website, or by registering for the service, you agree to comply with everything in this agreement. "Smart Souq" may modify it at any time, and modifications become binding once announced in the app, on the website, or by any other means. The platform was previously known as "Al Souq" (ssouq). Any reference to the former name in the platform or in our communications means "Smart Souq". Definitions "Smart Souq": the classifieds platform available through the Smart Souq app and the websites ssouq.io and web.ssouq.io User: someone who has completed registration on "Smart Souq" Visitor: someone who uses "Smart Souq" without completing registration Free User: a user who benefits from the basic free services Subscribed User: a user who has subscribed to one of the paid packages Classified Ads: ads posted by users to sell, buy, offer services, hire, or rent Private Messages: communication between users inside the platform Coins: digital reward points inside the platform (governed by the Coins System Terms) Tickets: units used to post and refresh ads Vouchers: services purchased with coins to enhance the user experience Bookings: the service for booking appointments, packages and rentals between a provider and a customer inside the platform Digital Market: a store inside the platform where coins are exchanged for digital products and discounts Souq Challenge: an entertainment quiz game inside the platform whose boards are bought with coins Registration and Usage Terms Compliance with the law Full compliance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is mandatory Advertising any goods or services that violate Saudi regulations is prohibited On violation, the account is banned and data is provided to the competent authorities upon official request "Smart Souq" rules are subject to Saudi law in resolving any dispute Arabic is the official language for dealing with "Smart Souq", and the Arabic version of this agreement prevails over any translation in case of conflict Your account Sign-in uses your mobile number and a verification code sent to it. You are responsible for protecting your phone and your codes, and for never sharing them with anyone, even someone claiming to be from the "Smart Souq" team Inappropriate or misleading names are not allowed. If your name contains a trademark, you must own it or be authorised to use it You must provide accurate information at registration and update your mobile number when it changes You must be 18 or older, or use the platform with a guardian's consent and under their supervision "Smart Souq" may suspend or delete any account that violates this agreement Responsibilities You bear full responsibility for all your activity on "Smart Souq" and for every transaction you conduct All ads, messages, reviews and questions you post represent you, and you are fully responsible for them Content suggested with the help of AI (titles, descriptions, translations) is a suggestion only. You remain responsible for reviewing it and for its accuracy before posting Advertising and Trading Provisions Commercial responsibility Transactions take place directly between the two parties. "Smart Souq" is not a party to them and does not take part in payment Exchanges and returns are agreed between the parties to the transaction "Smart Souq" recommends inspecting before paying, dealing in person in a public place, and never transferring money before you are comfortable Fees and commission Posting, browsing and messaging are free, with no commission on sales or completed deals The only fees are optional subscriptions, coin packages, and services bought with coins All proceeds from a sale go entirely to the seller Posting limits The number of active ads, their display period and the number of tickets follow the limits announced in the app for each user type and package "Smart Souq" may change these limits, announcing the change in the app An ad is removed automatically when its period ends if it is not refreshed. You can mark an ad as "sold" once the sale is done Posting and conduct rules The following are prohibited: Insulting ads or users, or lowballing goods and services Exposing any person or entity to insult, harm or defamation Attacking religions or civilisations, racism, or political speech that violates the law Violating copyrights and trademarks Collecting users' information for commercial purposes, or contacting them outside the scope of buying and selling Posting false, misleading or duplicate ads, or copying other users' ads Impersonating "Smart Souq" or its representatives Creating multiple accounts to get around limits or rewards Ad requirements: Complete details, the correct category, and a genuine price Images must be of the advertised item only, and must be appropriate The necessary permits must be obtained for services that require a licence "Smart Souq" may hide, edit or delete any ad that breaks these rules, including ads flagged by automated review systems Prohibited Goods and Services Advertising the following is prohibited: All goods prohibited under the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Medicines and medical products not licensed by the Ministry of Health Firearms and their accessories Espionage, wiretapping and jamming devices Goods that violate intellectual property rights Products or services that require a licence without obtaining it Ads unrelated to buying, selling or offering services, and defamation, donation or help-request ads Racist or indecent content in any form Subscriptions and Payments Users may subscribe to a package to benefit from the additional features announced in the app Monthly subscriptions bought in the app are managed, renewed and cancelled through the App Store or Google Play under their terms Annual subscriptions and coin packages bought on the website by bank transfer are activated after the transfer is verified Subscription and coin payments are non-refundable once activated, and no amount is refunded when an account is banned for violating the terms "Smart Souq" may cancel a subscription when the terms and conditions are violated Coins, Tickets and Vouchers Coins are digital reward points inside "Smart Souq". They have no monetary value and cannot be transferred, sold or used outside the platform They are earned through registration, tasks, achievements and events, and packages can be purchased They are spent on tickets, vouchers, the Digital Market, ad boosts, the platform's games and extra services Anything bought with coins cannot be exchanged or refunded, and selling an account or coins leads to a permanent ban Full details are in the "Coins System Terms and Conditions", which form an integral part of this agreement Bookings A provider lists their availability, services and packages, and the customer books a slot from the provider's page inside the platform A booking may require a coin deposit set by the provider as a sign of commitment. It is returned or kept according to the booking and cancellation policy shown on the service page Payment for the service itself takes place directly between the customer and the provider. "Smart Souq" is not a party to the service or its quality Providers are responsible for the accuracy of their details and licences and for honouring the bookings they accept Games and Events Souq Challenge, Predictions, Question of the Day and other events are entertainment activities inside the platform, paid for or rewarded with coins only No cash prizes, no betting, and no coin transfers between players Users may submit questions for the games. By submitting, you grant "Smart Souq" the right to use and edit them, and the announced reward is granted only when a question is approved "Smart Souq" may change the rules of the games or discontinue them, with an announcement Messages and Communication Lowballing, insults, harassment, and sending links or offers outside the scope of the ad are prohibited Inquiries must be serious and reflect genuine interest in buying Messages may be reviewed when a report is received, to ensure compliance with the terms AI and Translation "Smart Souq" may use AI to suggest ad content, translate it, improve search and recommendations, and automatically review images and text Automatic translations may contain errors. The original text written by the user is the authoritative version Ad text and images may be processed by AI service providers bound by data protection obligations, and are not used for commercial purposes beyond operating the platform Some AI tools may have a free daily allowance, with use beyond it paid in coins as announced in the app Data Protection and Minors "Smart Souq" complies with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law and does not sell personal data to third parties The internet is not 100% secure. Please refer to the Privacy Policy for details Minors under 18 may not use the platform without a guardian's consent, and direct commercial interaction with minors is prohibited Technology and Updates The app may require regular updates for security and performance, and some features may be disabled in old versions The app supports modern iOS and Android systems. Performance on unsupported devices is not guaranteed The service needs a stable internet connection. "Smart Souq" is not responsible for interruptions caused by connectivity "Smart Souq" may offer experimental features marked "beta" that can change or stop without any guarantee of continuity Service Termination and Data Retention You may delete your account at any time from the app or website settings On deletion, data, coins and subscriptions are lost without refund, and data cannot be recovered after final deletion "Smart Souq" may need to suspend the service temporarily for maintenance, with prior notice where possible, and is not responsible for losses caused by the interruption "Smart Souq" may retain some data for legal or security purposes for a period consistent with Saudi regulations Partnerships "Smart Souq" may offer products or discounts from stores and business partners inside the Digital Market "Smart Souq" is not responsible for partners' products or services. The partner's terms shown with the product apply "Smart Souq" Responsibilities and Their Limits "Smart Souq" provides a platform for listing ads, communicating and booking under the agreed usage policy It gives no guarantees on the goods or services listed, and bears no responsibility for users' non-compliance with the usage policy It bears no responsibility for any risks, damages or losses suffered by any party as a result of dealings between users "Smart Souq" may access and review entered data, review messages when needed, delete or edit ad content, and take the necessary action against any user who violates the agreement "Smart Souq" bears no obligation beyond its capacity or arising from force majeure, such as natural disasters, general internet outages, or failures of external services Disputes and Violations "Smart Souq" is not a party to disputes between users, and works to strengthen safety and combat fraud in line with Saudi law Fraud and scams: the affected party should report to the competent security authorities and to support through the app. The report is reviewed, action is taken when a violation is proven, and data is provided to the authorities upon official request Violations of the law or prohibited goods: the ad is documented and deleted immediately, the advertiser's membership is suspended, and the competent authorities are notified Privacy breaches or hacking: immediate legal action under the Anti-Cyber Crime Law Defamation: the report is reviewed and investigated, the necessary action is taken, and the affected party is referred to the relevant authorities Technical Support Support is available through the app and by email at support@ssouq.io We aim to respond within 24 hours on working days, with priority for subscribed users The service is currently available in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with prices in Saudi riyals Final Provisions "Smart Souq" may update this agreement at any time. Users should review it periodically and will be notified of substantial updates Official communication is through the app or the certified email. Undocumented agreements or modifications are not recognised This agreement takes effect on the date you accept it and remains valid until the account is terminated or the terms are updated This agreement is subject to the laws in force in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and disputes are referred to its competent courts Legal inquiries: contact@ssouq.io Technical support: support@ssouq.io By accepting these terms and conditions, you acknowledge that you have read and understood all the provisions above and agree to comply with them in full.
