How to sell your car fast and for the best price
Last updated: 2026-08-03
A clean car, priced realistically and shown with good photos, sells far faster. Most listings that sit for months suffer from an inflated price or weak photos.
Prep the car
Wash it inside and out, fix small faults that hurt first impressions, and gather the papers (registration, periodic inspection, service history if any). A tidy car signals an owner who cared for it.
Price it right
Look up cars of the same model, year, and mileage currently listed in your region, and set yours within the overall range — not the highest number. Overpricing hides your listing among competitors.
Photos and a description that sell
- Shoot in daylight from every angle, including wheels, cabin, and odometer.
- Show any flaw honestly — transparency draws a serious buyer and prevents arguments.
- State the year, mileage, inspection status, and reason for selling clearly.
Negotiation and handover
Expect haggling, so leave a small margin in the price. Meet in a public place, complete transfer and payment in the same session, and don't hand over until the money has actually reached your account.
