Buying and selling game accounts safely

Trading game accounts is common but needs care, because an account is a digital asset that can be recovered or disabled if the right steps aren't followed. The goal is for both sides to walk away safe and satisfied.

For the buyer: before paying

• Ask for proof of ownership (the primary email tied to it and purchase info).
• Verify the account's actual content: games, level, items.
• Don't pay before a clear agreement to hand over the email and password.

The moment you receive it

Change the password and the linked email immediately, and enable two-step verification if possible. This is the single most important step to stop the seller recovering the account later.

For the seller

Remove saved payment info before selling, and be honest about the account's content and state. An accurate description builds the trust that makes a serious buyer close quickly.

Scam signs

Beware of a push to pay off-app immediately, refusal to prove ownership, or a price far below normal. Keep the conversation and agreement documented, and never share your personal data or verification codes.
