Bookings: how to book, and how to offer your service
Last updated: 2026-07-24
The bookings section lets customers reserve service appointments directly instead of exchanging messages to agree a time. The idea is simple: a provider publishes their available times, and a customer picks the slot that suits them and confirms it immediately.
How to book a service
Browse the available services, then choose the service and the package that fits. Pick a date and the available slots for that day appear; fully booked slots are marked so you do not try to take them.
- Choose the service, then the package — each has its own price and duration.
- Pick a date, then a slot from those available.
- Some services book instantly; others need the provider to approve the request first.
- For duration-based services (hour, day, week, or month) you set a start date and number of units, then check availability before requesting.
The deposit: why and how
Confirming a booking reserves a deposit. Its purpose is to reduce no-shows, because a reserved slot is time the provider held for you and did not offer to anyone else.
- If you attend, the deposit counts toward your normal dealing with the provider.
- If you do not attend without cancelling, the booking is recorded as a no-show and the deposit is deducted.
- If you need to cancel, cancel early rather than letting the appointment pass.
Tracking your bookings
All your bookings appear under "My bookings" with each one's status: awaiting approval, confirmed, attended, no-show, or cancelled. From the same page you can cancel or report a problem.
If you are a provider
You can turn your business into bookable services instead of handling requests over chat. Define your services, their packages, and your available times, and the system handles slot display and booking organisation.
- Make the service name and description completely clear — what the price includes and excludes.
- Set each package's duration accurately so appointments do not overlap.
- Open realistic hours you can genuinely honour.
- Enable manual approval if you prefer reviewing each request before confirming.
Reliability is what builds your reputation here: a customer who arrives on time and finds the service exactly as described is the one who returns and recommends you.
